The girls JV team defended their title from last year in dominating fashion, finishing with a total of 18 points. This is the fourth straight Junior Varsity DeKalb County Championship for the girls team, however this is the only time that the Wildcats have placed all 7 runners in the top 10. Leading the way was individual champion Lauren Caplan, who was followed close behind by Julie Hensley, Chloe Thomas, and Julia Echols to take the top 4 places in the race. Teammates Olivia Vergura, Rosie Coffie, and Christy Holloway were not far behind and rounded out the top 10.
The boys JV team faced stiff competition but battled to a strong third place finish behind Lakeside and Clarkston, led by Ethan Herod, who finished in 5th overall. He was followed close behind by teammates Troy Anders, Brandon Shockley, and Ben Planer. Full race results can be found here, and the article on the DeKalb County website can be found here. Great job Wildcats, and the future is bright!

On Saturday, the top 10 boys and girls will head to Douglasville for the Alexander Asics Invitational. Race rosters for this meet will be announced during Monday's practice (and will be posted on the website later this week). The girls will race in the Championship Race at 9:00 AM and the boys will race in the 5A/6A race at 9:40 AM.
A couple of notes on practice this week:
1. Due to the County Championship on Tuesday, there will be no practice on Tuesday.
2. This being Homecoming Week, there will be no afternoon practice on Thursday so that we can participate in the Homecoming Parade as usual. More information about this event will be discussed in practice on Monday. There WILL be a practice Thursday morning at 6 AM on the track for those racing this Saturday at the Asics Invitational.
Thanks for your support of Dunwoody XC, and Go Wildcats!
