Many thanks to all the parents and fans who made the long drive to Berry College and cheered on the runners. It was a great day of racing that was made possible by all of you lining the course and supporting the runners. Thanks also to all of the alternates that were able to step in and run some great races at the last moment!
Congratulations to the last week’s Runners of the Week: Megan J, Carlos D, and Lauren C. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to Dunwoody XC.
For the upcoming week – there will be no official practice on Monday (9/5) due to the Labor Day Holiday. Athletes should get in an easy 40 minute run on their own.
Tuesday (9/6) we will be back at Druid Hills Middle School for the County Race #2. Race rosters were posted last week; and the bus will leave from DHS at 3:30pm. The 3 mile race is at 5:15pm; and the 2 mile race is at 5:45pm. All 8th graders will compete in the 2 mile race. There will be no official practice for those not racing on Tuesday. These athletes should get in a 40 minute run – 15 min easy, followed by a 10 min uptempo pace; then finishing with 15 min easy.
Wednesday (9/7) 3:30pm practice
Thursday (9/8) 3:30pm practice followed by ChickFilA Spirit Night at Perimeter Point ChickFilA from 5-8pm. Please come support the team; and be sure you mention you are with Dunwoody Cross Country. A portion of all the sales that night will be donated to Dunwoody Cross Country!!!!! And Coach Charlotte has some fun games and activities planned!
Friday (9/9) 6am practice
Saturday (9/10) Roswell Covered Bridge Race at Gerrard Landing. We can race 80 runners in this event. The roster will be posted at practice on Wednesday of this week. There will be no bus to this meet, so runners are encouraged to carpool. More information to come as we get closer to the race.
Just a reminder that all athletes invited on the overnight trip need to confirm with Coach Hendrickson by Tuesday, so any open slots can be passed along to those on the waitlist.
A final thank you to all of our parent volunteers that have worked so hard to outfit all of our runners in uniforms and spirit wear! This is an enormous task with so many runners on the team, and we really appreciate everything you do.
Go Wildcats!
