among others!
This week, the Wildcats travel back to Druid Hills Middle School on Tuesday for our final DeKalb County Meet. All high schoolers (unless injured) will participate in the 3 mile race at 5:15 PM. All 8th graders WILL run in the 2 mile race at 5:45 PM. This is a change, as we were previously informed that there was no 2 mile race on Tuesday. We arehappy that there is, so the 8th graders have another chance to race!
On Thursday, there will be no practice because it is the annual DHS Homecoming Parade. Athletes should plan to walk to the cul-de-sac in Vermack Court immediately after school so that we can walk in the parade. Athletes should wear their 2013 team shirt. Thanks to the Herods for volunteering the use of their truck in the parade. Athletes can bring candy to hand out during the parade, but no candy should be thrown! Again, because of the parade, there will be no practice on Thursday, so please plan to have a ride for your athlete after the parade concludes (approximately 4:30 PM).
After Tuesday's race, we transition into "Championship" mode for the
remainder of the season! With meets like the County (Varsity and JV)
Championships, the Great American XC Festival in NC, the Coach Wood
Invitational, and Region and State Championships, cross country should be
a priority for those that hope to compete in these meets. Use your time
off from meets these couple weekends to catch up or (gasp!) get ahead in
your schoolwork. This will help us to reduce stress and outside
distractions as we focus on the goals for our season.
Go Wildcats!
