week with some strong workouts and the 2013 edition of Pace Poker, won
this year by the team Sassy Six, who were closest to their goal time on a
distance run (without using their watch!). The Wildcats rest this weekend
and will get ready for the last part of their season and their final meets
of the year. Since there is no school on Monday, there will be no
official practice, however the Varsity squads are encouraged to meet at
Blackburn Park at 8 AM on Monday morning for a workout with the coaches.
Practice will meet at regular times the rest of the week.
On Saturday, the Wildcats will travel north to Gainesville, GA to
participate in the Coach Wood Invitational, one of the most competitive
meets in the state. This is a new meet on the Wildcats schedule this
year, but will give all of our teams a chance to see where we stack up
with our competition before our championship races begin. The meet will
also feature Olympian Andrew Wheating, who will be on hand for autographs
and the awards ceremony! The race lineup and times are listed below, and
bus departure times will be announced later in the week (spolier alert: it
will be early!). The girls will be in the Championship and JV-A races,
while the boys will be in the Varsity and JV-B races, which is the reason
for the gap in race times (yes, there will only be one bus!).
