The following individuals will be participating in the Clara Bowl Invitational this Saturday at Berry College in Rome, GA.
Boys: Blake Tiede, Cadmiel Velazquez, Noah Goldstein, Quinton Johnson, Benson Ross, Cullen Jones, Jackson Watson, Owen Firebaugh, Noah Doherty, and Max Noto. Alternate: Drew D'Alessandro Girls: Alex Cameron, Ann-Marie Sills, Ansley Heavern, Callie Dill, Jennifer Hardister, Ellie Conoley, Ellie Canalichio, Elizabeth Hardister, Brook Joyner, and Shanel Stewart. Alternates: Allie Womble, Emily Cyr. Those individuals should be at DHS at 5:40 AM on Saturday morning to depart via bus to Berry. Varsity girls will race at 8:45 AM, and the Varsity boys will race at 9:30 AM. We anticipate arriving back at DHS at approximately 12:30 PM. Thanks for your support, and Go Wildcats! All students and parents will need to park off campus; either at Chamblee Middle School or Bubbling Creek Drive (Ashford Dunwoody to Harts Mill to Bubbling Creek Drive). Please be respectful of neighbors, park on the same side of the street, and do not block any driveways. "This week, there are two races on the schedule. On Saturday, the top 10 boys and girls will participate at the Clara Bowl Invitational at Berry College in Rome, GA. The individuals listed above will be racing on Saturday, along with additional team members to be announced on Wednesday in practice. More information about this meet will be announced later this week. We've had a great start to the season and we're looking forward to everyone getting their first race in this week! Go Wildcats!" -DHS XC Coaches Chick-fil-a night will be September 5th at the Chick-fil-a at Perimeter Pointe. This is a fund raiser for the team. Please bring everyone you know. There will be fun activities for runners like a nugget eating contest. "The Wildcats started another promising season on Saturday at the Peachtree Ridge/Walton Stage Races in Duluth. This two-mile race is a great way some of our Varsity and JV athletes to race against quality competition and get them fired up for the upcoming season. On the boys side, standout performances were posted by Noah Goldstein and Benson Ross
in the Varsity races, and Cullen Jones and Jackson Watson in the JV races. The girls team was led by excellent Varsity performances from Ann-Marie Sills and Ellie Conoley, and several JV girls finished top 10 in their individual races, including 8th grader Samantha Cameron, Ellie Canalichio,and Elizabeth Hardister. It’s very exciting that our team has grown so much and we appreciate your patience as we make adjustments based on our size. We estimate that we are at 175 runners, we had planned for 120!
We have already placed a reorder for team tee shirts and lanyards (included in team dues) and hope to have them within two weeks. We will deliver them to practice. We are ordering more uniforms this weekend so the deadline for uniform orders is Sunday! We will not be ordering extra so please be sure to let us know if your runner needs a uniform. We ran out of a number of sizes Tuesday night and will fill all orders. We will let you know when to expect them. Email [email protected] for uniform orders. New for this season, we have a fleece pullover embroidered with Dunwoody Cross Country for $30 (available in woman’s cut and unisex cut). Those morning meets can get awfully cold! If you were unable to attend the meeting, please fill out the registration form and transportation release (both located on our website at www.dunwoodycrosscountry.weebly.com) and return them with your booster club dues as soon as possible. Your runner will not get their tee shirt and lanyard until dues are paid.
