Due to the weather, Cross Country Practice has been cancelled for Wednesday 8/30. All students need to leave school at 3:10pm.
If you ordered your uniform BEFORE school started and did not pick it up after practice, your uniform is available in Mr. Cameron's classroom (1704) before 8:00 a.m. or after 3:15 p.m. If you have not received your spirit wear, it also is in Mr. Cameron's room.
Congratulations to the Running Wildcats on some outstanding races this past week. The season began on Tuesday racing at Druid Hills Middle School. The Wildcats did an amazing job of working the hills on a hot, humid afternoon. Official results can be found at
http://ga.milesplit.com/meets/285099/results#.WaMn3iiGPIU The Wildcats then traveled to Wesleyan School to take on some tough AAAAAAA opponents. The Wildcats were met with a cooler morning, but a very difficult course. The girls varsity finished in second place, while the boys varsity finished in 5th. Official results can be found at http://ga.milesplit.com/meets/282780/results#.WaMpKCiGPIU The coaches would like to thank all the spectators for coming out and cheering on the Wildcats! We are excited about the season, and really appreciate your support! Congratulations to our Runners of the Week that will be announced at practice Monday. A huge thank you to our Booster Club for working so hard to get our new uniforms in this season. They look fantastic! There are no weekday races this week. The Wildcats will resume racing this Saturday Sept 2 at the Berry College Clara Bowl Invitational. We can only run 10 racers at this meet, and they will be announced at practice. We will have one bus for this meet (leaving DHS at 6:00am) , so other students not racing are welcome to ride the bus and support the team. Go Wildcats! The coaches and athletes are excited to kick off the racing season in the upcoming week. For the most part, students will either race Tuesday or Saturday. Our first meet of the season will be held at Druid Hills Middle School on Tuesday August 22. The bus will leave from Dunwoody High School Gym at 3:30pm. Most runners will race in the 3 mile race at 5:15pm, while others will race in the 2 mile race at 5:45pm. All athletes in the race (with the exception of 8th graders) must ride the bus to the school. However, parents are welcome to pick up their runners after our final stretch and team meeting (with permission of the coaches). Athletes not racing Tuesday should get in a long distance run on their own. There will be NO practice Wednesday for those that raced on Tuesday. Our second race will be Saturday April 26th at Wesleyan School. There will be no bus transportation for this race, so please carpool. The boys varsity race is at 8:30am ; girls varsity at 9:00am ; boys JV at 9:40am ; and girls JV at 10:10am. All athletes need to be at Wesleyan by 8:00am (with the the exception of boys varsity at 7:30am). Attached is the list of runners racing Tuesday and Saturday. UPDATE - UNFORTUNATELY NEW UNIFORMS WILL NOT BE RECEIVED IN TIME FOR TUESDAY'S RACE AND POSSIBLY SATURDAY'S RACE. ALL RUNNERS SHOULD DO THEIR BEST TO TRY AND BORROW AN OLD UNIFORM FROM LAST YEAR. WITH ONLY HALF OF THE RUNNERS RACING TUESDAY AND HALF OF THEM ON SATURDAY, THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIND ONE FROM A TEAMMATE. (JUST REMEMBER TO WASH IT BEFORE YOU RETURN IT :-) AS A LAST RESORT, RUNNERS SHOULD WEAR THEIR RED DHS XC TSHIRT WITH NAVY SHORTS TO THE MEET IF THEY'RE UNABLE TO BORROW A UNIFORM. THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE. Go Wildcats!

PRIVIT Dunwoody High School, as part of the Dekalb County School System, is moving to an electronic platform called PRIVIT this school year to collect and manage personal health information for all of its sports programs. This information collected includes -Pre-Participation History -Emergency Contact Information -Parental/Guardian Consent -GHSA Concussion form -Physical Form -Insurance Information The process takes about 20 minutes to complete; and you will need the electronic copy of your physical form to upload during the process. There are many advantages to this system including instant access to emergency contact information for coaches, trainers, and administrators; ease of transferring physicals from one sport to another; and ensuring all paperwork is complete and up to date. Please visit the website below and complete this process as soon as possible. My apologies that the system was not available earlier, and many of you have already completed the physical process. Even if you were cleared using the prior process, we ask that you please go ahead and also get cleared through PRIVIT as well. The attached file walks you through the process if you need assistance. Please contact Coach Hendrickson if you have any questions. https://dunwoodywildcats-ga.e-ppe.com/index.jspa Thank you.
